I was born in South Central Alaska and now live in Interior Alaska. I received an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and then I taught for two years in a remote Yupik village, called Alakanuk.

After the birth of my first daughter, I took a break from teaching. I finally re-entered the field of education with Chugach School District, where I am currently employed. I work with a very dynamic group of home-schooled students from all over Alaska in grades K through 12. Although the students I help to service do the majority of their curriculum at home, I have the opportunity to put together workshops, fieldtrips and classes in various subject areas.

I spend my free time enjoying my family, including my husband and three children. I am very active in my church. And my husband and I recently built a new home, doing most of the work ourselves. (That was a challenge!)
